NWD Leaps 4%+ After Reportedly Securing Commitments from ~10 Banks to Join Loan Refinancing

NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK) has secured commitments from around 10 banks to participate in its HKD87.5 billion (about USD11.2 billion) loan refinancing, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. As indicated by the sources, NEW WORLD DEV has invited more than 50 existing bank lenders to join this deal. While most participating institutions have yet to make a final commitment, many bankers are expecting the transaction to ultimately go through. The company aims to reach an agreement by the end of next month. NEW WORLD DEV opened 0.9% higher today and once peaked at HKD4.69.
