Regarding China-U.S. tariff negotiations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian accentuated that pressure and threats are not the right way to deal with China, and that China will resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.

Lin pointed out that the U.S., under the guise of "reciprocity", is engaging in hegemonic practices, sacrificing the legitimate interests of other countries to serve its own selfish agenda. By placing "America First" above international rules, the U.S. is exhibiting typical unilateralism, protectionism, and economic bullying.
